Foundations
Bay Life was founded in January 2010. We have been serving Pevensey Bay. Pevensey, Normans Bay, Stone Cross and Westham for eight years.

Bay Life is an independent publication.

Celebration of Communities
We celebrate all that is best about our communities. We debate important local questions and campaign on subjects like the regeneration of economic activity and the preservation of precious community assets.

Campaigns
We have been involved in a number of campaigns including the call to English Heritage to restore the fortunes for the Castle Cottage Tea Room, the campaign against the development of the Beach Tavern site in Pevensey Bay into a three storey luxury flat complex and the Friends of Pevensey Bay Library campaign to save the local library.

Pevensey Bay Journal
In May 2016 we also launched the Pevensey Bay Journal, a local newspaper.

The Journal is written by local people. The Journal is available to buy in local newsagents priced forty pence, published ten times a year. The paper is also available as a full digital download on subscription, and as a postal subscription

Promotions
Promotion rates online and in our newspaper, the Journal, are available on request.

We aim to support local businesses with year long- promotions. These promotions include promotion boxes online and in print, as well as features about the businesses.

Bay Life online and the Bay Life Journal are a unique and independent opportunity for businesses to profile their goods and services to a niche local audience in a way that makes a direct connection with the local audience that we serve.

We also offer a special yearly community rate to local organisations in fields such as local amateur theatre, art groups, residents associations, churches and various community groups, parish wide events and special community events.

Our social media sharing profiles aim to extend the range of our promotion of local busiensses.

Eventboards both online and in print offer a variety of other promotional possibilities for local public houses, and entertainment venues across the locality. These eventboards are updated on a weekly basis and also include special features about what is offered to local residents and visitors.

Online, the eventboards are interactive and update automatically on a daily basis.

Our new beta web platform for 2019 was launched on Monday 31 December 2018.

Bay Life and Times for the Digital Age
In 2018 the Pevensey  Bay Journal was proud to become one of the ten founding members of The Independent Community News Network. (ICNN) is the UK representative body for the independent community and hyperlocal news sector. ICNN was awarded £223,000 by Google in July 2018 and is now part of the Google Digital Innovation Fund.
